Lula Dean's Little Library of Banned Books by Kirsten Miller

Lula Dean lives in a small town in Georgia. Her husband has died and her twins took off after college and never came home. She's feeling forgotten and wants to draw attention to herself. So she decides to start a ban the books movement and sets up a little library in front of her house with appropriate books--like A Guide to Crocheting and The Southern Girl's Handbook.  One of town's citizens who disagrees with the book ban, goes to the little library one night and replaces the "appropriate" books with the banned books, but keeps the jackets of the "appropriate" books on them. That simple action sets off a chain reaction of responses that changes many people's minds but also almost ends up in violence.

Lula Dean"s Library is a thought-provoking tale, with some laugh-out-loud parts and some very sad parts. If you love books, it's definitely worth reading.
