The Wedding People by Alison Espach

Phoebe and Matt are married and teach at the same university. Their recent attempts to get pregnant have met with failure. When Matt leaves Phoebe, she gets even more depressed. She decides to go to a fancy hotel she had wanted to visit with Matt--and commit suicide. But when she gets there, she finds the whole hotel (except for her room) has been reserved for a huge wedding.  Lila the bride is not going to let Phoebe ruin her wedding by killing herself. Over the course of the next few days, Phoebe becomes part of the festivities and a confidant to the bride--who may or may not really want to marry the groom.

You really do love Phoebe, who has always tried to do the right thing--and remain under the radar. But after spending a few days with Lila, she decides she has to be more bold--and it's good to see her heading into what looks to be a happier future. There are some funny scenes in this book and some very touching ones. A good book for a chilly autumn weekend.
