Locked In by Jussi Adler Olsen

 This appears to be the last in the excellent Department Q series set in Denmark. Carl Morck, the leader of the Department Q team, finds himself arrested for a suitcase full of cash and drugs that one of his old police partenrs had left with him years earlier. Once he's in prison, people keep trying to kill him. His boss won't let his team work on his case (even though they are, under the radar). And the case turns out to be a complcated Danish/Dutch drug ring whose tentacles spread far and wide, including corrupt cops.

One of my favorite characters is Femke, the wife of a corrupt Dutch cop who had no idea what he was up to until he was captured by members of the drug ring. The bad guys think she knows too much and keep trying to kill her and her young daughter, but she is a feisty chick with good survival skills and keeps outwitting them. I am sad to see this series end.
