Defy by Dr Sunita Sah
Defy is a fascinating book about why we so often say "yes" when our guts and brains are telling us to say "no."She uses real-life examples--some from her own life and some from the news. And she shares the stories of people who did say "no"--Rosa Parks on the bus and Jeffrey Wigand, the whistleblower at Brown and Williamson, to name two. She also includes stories of regular folks--an employee who can't put up with a corrupt work environment anymore and a student who stops other students from referring to things as "so gay."
Dr Sah pulls everything together by explaining the 5 stages of defiance and provides tools for individuals to use to make decisions that align with their personal values. Definitely worth reading.
