Show No Fear, by the mother-daughter writing team known as Perri O'Shaughnessy, is a sort of prequel to the popular Nina Reilly series. Nina eventually becomes a successful lawyer in Lake Tahoe but in this book, she's a single mother working as a paralegal while trying to complete law school. Her mother is sick and trying to sue the acupuncturist she blames for alot of her medical problems. The man who may be the father of Nina's son, Bob, has begun stalking her and demanding custody. And she's drawn to co-worker Jack, a successful attorney who's in love with fellow attorney Remy, Nina's mentor at the law firm. It's a good story on its own but also provides some interesting insights for those who have read the other books in the series.
