Trap by Robert K Tanenbaum

I loved this series featuring NY DA Butch Karp and his feisty lawyer wife Marlene when it first started. Then it veered off in kind of a strange direction, so I stopped looking for the newer books. But I happened upon Trap in the library and decided to give it a chance. I'm glad I did. Trap is more like the original books, though there's not much Marlene in this one.

The case Butch is involved with revolves around corruption in the teachers union and the lengths some people will go to protect the power and wealth they've amassed. There are also neo Nazis, an arsonist with a skin condition, and the kidnapping of 2 of Butch and Marlene's  kids. All in all, quite the page turner.
