Winter Solstice by Elin Hilderbrand

Winter Solstice is the 4th book in what started out to be the Winter trilogy, featuring the Quinns of Nantucket. The action picks up where the previous book left off: Patriarch Kelley is dying of brain cancer. Son Bart is home from the war but not adjusting well to civilian life. Ava is dating Potter and trying to figure out how to win over his handful of a son, PJ. Margaret is thinking of retiring as a network news person. And Mitzi is thinking of selling the inn that has been the family home for as long as anyone can remember.

If you've enjoyed the rest of the series, you will appreciate how Elin Hilderbrand tries to tie up some of the story lines before saying goodbye to the Quinns. She is now working on a trilogy set in the Virgin Islands.
