The Perfect Couple by Elin Hilderbrand

Elin Hilderbrand's books are perfect summer reading--not too heavy in general but always a good story. Perfect Couple is no exception. The perfect couple of the title is Benji Winbury and his fiancee Celeste, whose Nantucket summer wedding promises to be the event of the season. That is, until Celeste's best friend and bridesmaid, Merritt ("like the parkway") is found dead on the beach the morning of the wedding.

Aside from a murder mystery, it's an interesting character study. Benji grew up rich and entitled but seems like a genuinely nice person and definitely the sanest member of his family. Celeste grew up in Pennsylvania, in a loving but financially struggling family. Benji is outgoing, while Celeste is kind of passive and always trying to please others. In truth, they don't exactly seem to be the perfect couple--which Celeste begins to realize before the wedding.

So while the cops are trying to figure out what happened to Merritt, the reader is trying to figure out whether or not Celeste will actually go through with the wedding.
