Night of Miracles by Elizabeth Berg

Miracles is the sequel to the equally charming Arthur Truluv. This one features Arthur's friend and neighbor Lucille, a woman in her 80s who has found a new career late in life teaching cooking classes. The story is told almost like a series of interlocking short stories involving people Lucille knows--her friend  (the ironically named)Tiny, her new assistant Iris, her new neighbors--Jason, Abby and their son Lincoln. And of course we see the return of Maddy and her daughter Nola from the original book. There is sorrow but also a lot of kindness and joy in this small Midwestern town. I'm picking up the next book in this heartwarming series at the library today.
