Walk the Wire by David Baldacci
Walk the Wire features the stars of two of Baldacci's popular series--Amos Decker and Will Robie.
Decker and his partner Jamison are sent to fracking country in North Dakota to find out who killed a woman and left her autopsied body in the middle of nowhere. The dead woman, it turns out, had many names and a mysterious past and seemed to have stumbled onto some potentially explosive information. The more they investigate, the more people who keep turning up dead--almost including them but for the intervention of Will Robie and his partner Reel. It really was quite the complicated plot but all becomes clear by the end. There was a good sense of ambiance--you really got a sense of what it was like living in that small town in North Dakota that had been taken over by fracking.
Can't wait to see what adventures these four go on next.
