The Law of Innocence by Michael Connelly

 This is quite the gripping story. Mickey Haller, the Lincoln Lawyer, is stopped for a missing license plate when the cop sees what looks like blood dripping from his trunk. When he opens the trunk, one of Mickey's former clients is lying dead inside, so Mickey is arrested. He is convinced someone who hated him is framing him and intends to prove his innocence. But will he survive life in the slammer long enough to do that? 

Connelly brings back Mickey's half-brother Harry Bosch and his ex-wife, Maggie to help Mickey prove his case. Good story, good characters, perfect read for Christmas vacation during a pandemic.
