Fool's Paradise by Mike Lupica

In my effort to get caught up on my Robert Parker series, I stumbled across Fool's Paradise, which featured both Paradise police chief Jesse Stone and his sometime girlfriend (and star of another series started by Parker), Sunny  Randall.

This story revolves around an old case Jesse had worked on involving a teenage girl who was raped by 3 teenage boys. It is now years later and that case seems to be rearing its ugly head again. Someone attacks Molly, Jesse's second in command. Someone shoots at Stone. A friend of Molly's almost gets raped. One of the teenage rapists ends up dead. Jesse sees ties to the original case.

At the same time, a man named Paul is found dead shortly after a car dropped him off at the gate of one of the richest families in town. Jesse's interest is piqued because he had seen Paul at a recent AA meeting. Sunny comes to town to help Stone and Molly--and because she likes hanging with Jesse. It's a good story and a quick read.
