London is the Best City in America by Laura Dave

Emmy is engaged to Matt when she suddenly decides he doesn't really love her anymore and leaves him without even saying goodbye. She moves to a small town and gets a job in a tackle and bait shop and starts working on a documentary about fishermen's wives. Her life is sort of going nowhere fast when she goes home for her brother Josh's wedding to his longtime girlfriend, Meryl. Two nights before the wedding, Josh tells Emmy that he's torn between his love for Meryl and his love for (the heretofore unknown to Emmy) Elizabeth. And Emmy realizes that her brother the successful doctor is just as ambivalent and stressed about his future as she is.

London takes places over the course of the wedding weekend as we watch Josh trying to figure out what to do and Emmy trying to figure out what to do with her life. I liked Emmy, who finally does start making some decisions  by the end of the weekend. And I even liked Josh, who loved both Meryl and Elizabeth but couldn't decide which path to take. I especially loved their mother, who ends up with a houseful of unexpected wedding guests--and is baffled by what her two kids are doing with their lives. But she keeps her cool and maintains her sense of humor throughout.
