The Ride: Paul Revere and the Night that Saved America by Kostya Kennedy
This is a fascinating tome about Paul Revere and his midnight ride to warn the patriots that the British army was on the way. The beginning of the book is about Paul, his family, and his life. Who knew he was a part-time dentist? Paul had a lot of kids, so he had to keep picking up new skills to support his family. He also was well known in the area, so when he came to warn about the British people listened. When a less-well-known man named Dawes was also sent out to warn the citizenry, he had a much smaller impact.
It's a quick, educational read on the 250th anniversary of Paul Revere's ride that's definitely worth a look.
