Watch Your Back by Terri Parlato

 The story starts with Nathan waking up in a hospital blind and in excrutiating pain after an attack--and he's convinced that his wife, Eve, was the attacker. Then we go back a few weeks and see all that has happened leading up to the attack.

Eve is a psychiatrist and Nathan runs an auto body shop, so they're kind of an unlikely pair to start with. Then she got pregnant right away with their beloved daughter Rosewyn. Lately Eve has been consumed with her job and kind of distant. So when a good-looking divorcee named Nicole starts flirting with Nathan, he succumbs to her charms and they have a short fling. Then Rosewyn vanishes one day while in the care of Barbara, her babysitter. And during the investigation, his fling with Nicole comes out, infuriating Eve. Even after the situation with Rosewyn is resolved, bad things keep happening to Nathan and Eve. And no one can figure out who is responsible--despite the large number of suspects.

It's a compelling story with plenty of twists and turns. The psych hospital where Eve works is full of both dangerous patients and a few creepy staff members, which adds to the ambiance. My favorite character is Rita, the cop who is determined to figure out what is going on.
