Movie review: Silver Linings Playbook

Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence have great chemistry in this unconventional love story between a man with bipolar disorder and a wounded widow. You're really hoping they can get past their issues and make it work because they are clearly so good for each other. Though I thought both of them (and Robert DiNiro) were very good, my favorite character in the movie was played by Jacki Weaver. She plays the mother of Bradley's character and the wife of Robert DiNiro's character. She has to be the voice of reason and emotional rock for these two highly unpredictable men. And she handles the role with grace and much love for both of them. If you're looking for a love story with a lot more depth than your average rom-com, check out Silver Linings Playbook. (And lest you think this movie might be too "serious," not to worry--there are laugh-out-loud moments sprinkled throughout.)
