MWF Seeking BFF by Rachel Bertsche

Rachel moves to Chicago to be with her boyfriend (later husband). She loves the Windy City (and who wouldn't?) but misses her girlfriends back on the East Coast. So she begins a year-long experiment on meeting new people and making some new girlfriends. It's a fascinating look at what makes up a good friendship. I have to say, I admired her persistence and her willingness to try anything. She tries clubs, social groups, activities, networking even a "rent a friend" service, with some success. And I did admire the patience of her sweet husband who was willing to go along with this experiment without complaining. Worth a read if nothing more than to make you appreciate the friendships in your own life.
