Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens

It was the best of times. It was the worst of times. So starts the classic Tale of Two Cities, which was the latest selection chosen by my book group. Tale is not an easy read. Dickens always seem to take the longest route to get from Point A to Point B. But there is a good story here about two men (Charles Darney and Sydney Carton) in love with the same woman (Lucie Manette) set against the backdrop of the bloody French Revolution. And who could be a better villain than the vengeance-obsessed (and we all decided probably psychotic) Madame Defarge, who knits while heads are rolling. If you haven't read it since high school, give it another look.
