Family Pictures by Jane Green

Young California widow Sylvie can't believe her good fortune when she meets man of her dreams Mark.
Life is good, though Mark travels too much for work and is reluctant to talk about his past.
(And yes, I figured out what his big secret was long before it was revealed.) Then things take
a sudden turn for the worse on several fronts and Sylvie has to call on every ounce of strength she possesses
just to keep herself and her daughter afloat.

Across the country, socialite Maggie and her family are suddenly faced with a crisis of their own.
Which Maggie is ill-equipped to handle. Eventually the stories of the two women collide and life takes an unexpected turn.

Jane Green tells a good story. And you care about her characters. That being said, this was not my favorite of her books. Still, it is a quick read and would make a good book for vacation.
