Normally when you think of the setting for a thriller, you don't think of the publishing industry.
But that is indeed the setting for The Accident and it is quite the page-turner.
Literary Agent Isabel gets an anonymous manuscript about ruthless media mogul Charlie Wolfe and thinks this could be the next big blockbuster. She also realizes with a shock that part of his life story is tied into hers. Soon everyone and his brother is trying to get their hands on this manuscript--some to reap millions and others to keep it from ever seeing the light of day. Which puts Isabel and everyone else who has knowledge of the manuscript in a precarious position.
Isabel, whose life is kind of falling apart even before this hot potato landed on her desk, is amazingly resourceful. You just keep hoping she will find a way to survive--and to make sure that Charlie Wolfe gets the comeuppance he so richly deserves.
