The Fall by John Lescroart

In The Fall, lawyer Dismas Hardy's daughter, newly minted lawyer Rebecca, gets her first big court case. It involves the death of Anlya Paulson due to a fall from an overpass. Was it a suicide or a homicide? Greg Treadway, the CASA assigned to Anlya's twin brother, Max, becomes the prime suspect--and Becca's client--when it turns out he had dinner with Anlya shortly before the fall. He insists he's innocent but Becca's not so sure.

Not only is Becca dealing with her doubts about her client and nerves about handling such a high-profile case, but there are a lot of political pressures for a speedy resolution to the crime. It all makes a for a nail-biting good read.
