Shell Game by Sara Paretsky

I didn't realize that there was a new VI Washawski novel out until I saw an article in the local paper about the death of Sara Paretsky's husband. (In the article her newest book was mentioned). Condolences to the author.

Shell Game has a very complicated plot. Vic is working on 2 separate "family" cases--one involving best friend Lotty's nephew (who is a suspect in a murder) and one involving Vic's ex-husband's niece (who has gone missing). Eventually she begins to think the 2 cases  might be related. It took me a while to unravel the various plot threads, but it was a good story. And I have to admire Vic's stamina. She is attacked and almost killed several times in this book but manages to land on her feet.
