Musical Chairs by Amy Poeppel

Bridget and Will are long-time best friends in a classical music trio that keeps losing its third member. They're hoping to sign up a rising star female violinist and book some concerts but she is being very slippery and demanding. Bridget decides to spend the summer in her ramshackle country house in Connecticut with her boyfriend Sterling, in hopes that time together will lead to a proposal. But things don't go exactly as planned. Sterling bails on her. Then both of her grown kids show up expecting to spend the summer there too. And she ends up with a herd of sheep grazing on her front lawn.

It was interesting how people from Bridget's (and her family's) past kept rotating in and out of her life, forming new attachments along the way. This is a good-hearted story told with a sense of humor. Which makes it a good choice to read during a pandemic. I will look for other works by this author.
