 Dark Sky is the latest Joe Pickett (game warden) novel. The new governor makes Joe take a rich tech guy on an elk hunt in the wilderness in hopes of getting him to locate his new server farm in the state. Joe does his best to make it a memorable experience for Steve2 (the Steve who's not Steve Jobs), but things go badly awry when a group of mountain men with an ax to grind against Steve2 disrupt the elk hunt and cause mayhem--leaving Joe and Steve2 on their own with no weapons, no horses, no food and only Joe's wits to survive. A secondary plot involves Joe's best friend, falconer Nate, who's dealing with a rogue falconer, who has no respect for the birds. It's a fast-paced adventure set in the wilds of Wyoming.
