Three Hours in Paris by Cara Black

Kate is an Oregonian, proficient with a gun, who is married to a Welshman and living with him and their daughter on the Orkney Islands during World War II. She loses her family in a horrible war-related accident and wants revenge against the Nazis. So when British intelligence picks her for a mission in France requiring her sharpshooting skills, she says yes. Her mission is to kill Hitler when he makes a brief visit to Paris. But when Kate gets to Paris, she realizes there is way more to this mission than she bargained for and she finds herself trying to stay alive and one step ahead of a very determined German cop named Gunter as she frantically tries to find her way back to England and safety.

This is quite the compelling story and a good lesson in not underestimating the power of a woman. Couldn't put it down.
