Box 88 by Chas Cumming

 If you're  in the mood for a good spy thriller, Box 88 nicely fills the bill. Box 88 is a covert spy agency run by the British and the Americans. The British head is Lachlan (Lockie) Kite. The story keeps alternating between 2 plot lines: Lockie has been kidnapped/his pregnant wife is being held captive and the events that led to his getting enmeshed in the spy world as a young man--which turn out to be connected. It ends with a sort of cliffhanger, so I'm hoping there is a follow-up novel.

Quick read, good characters.
