 The story starts with a young woman jumping off a hotel balcony to escape a dangerous man. Then flashes back to how she got there. AnnieLee Keyes has arrived in Nashville, where the plan is to be a country music star. But she has no money and no connections, so success might be at the end of a very long road. In a small bar, she meets a guy named Ethan and convinces the bartender to let her sing--and both events change the trajectory of her life. Though it looks like she might actually achieve her dreams, AnnieLee has a secret that she's afraid to tell her new friends, and it's a secret that might just get her killed.

Good story, likeable characters. Quick read.
