Let's Not Do That Again by Grant Ginder

Nancy is running for the Senate in a very close race. One day, she sees her daughter, Greta, on cable news tossing a champagne bottle through the window of a ritzy Paris restaurant. Nancy sends her son, Nick, to Paris to bring Greta back so her team can do damage control.

Greta has taken up with a French internet troll and generally unlikeable (racist, misogynist) guy named Xavier, who sees Greta (and her famous) mother as a surefire way for him to become a celebrity. Greta hates Nancy because of a lie she was told by her bitter Grandmother, which has set her on her destructive path including her decision to team up with Xavier. Things soon careen out of control.

This is an interesting character story about the lengths people will go to protect their family and themselves--and about how much guilt people can carry. I think this would be a good book for a book group discussion. It's definitely a quick read. I read the whole thing in less than 24 hours.
