The Joy and Light Bus Company by Alexander McCall Smith

Precious and her partner, the indomitable Mma Makutsi, are dealing with several different cases in this latest charming installment of the Botswana series.  They're dealing with a will that the son is not happy about. And they're trying to figure out how to help 2 children being treated as slave labor by a wealthy family. But what's weighing most on Precious's mind is the offer an old school friend made to her husband--to invest in his fledgling bus company. Such an investment would require JLB to use his auto repair shop (and the offices of the Number One Ladies Detective Agency) as collateral for a bank loan, which is making Precious very nervous.

As always, Precious finds a gentle way to solve her cases--and life's problems--to make life better for all involved. With so much strife in the world today, it's always nice to read a book like this.
