Disappointing Next in the Series
Just finished the newest Wm. Bernhardt "Ben Kincaid" novel, Capitol Betrayal, and it was disappointing. This series started out strong with Ben a struggling lawyer in Oklahoma, surrounded by a cast of interesting characters. But then he ended up hanging out with the movers and shakers in Washington DC and the series kind of lost its way. In this latest installment, Ben is defending the President who's at risk of losing his office to the VP on the grounds that he's mentally incompetent--all while a terrorist plot to attack the east coast is underway. Apparently, the next book in the series will focus on the FBI agent who was trying to solve the terrorist plot.
Bernhardt should send Ben back to Tulsa if he wants to resurrect this series.
