Truth in Advertising by John Kenney

Fin Dolan's life is kind of a mess. His mother is dead. His estranged father is dying. He called off his wedding. And he's working for an advertising agency on a diaper account. Fin's journey to figure out what's really important in life is the crux of Truth in Advertising by John Kenney. The scenes in the advertising world are hilarious--and very realistic, if you've ever worked at an ad agency. The scenes involving Fin's personal life are frequently sad--and often involve narration from the voice in his head (named Gary). You feel bad for Fin, who did have a rough childhood, and you really hope he finds his way before it's too late. Lest this sound all too depressing, it's not. There are some very funny episodes in this book--and a sweet love story.
