Top Secret 21 by Janet Evanovich

Summer is always a good time to see what's happening with bounty hunter Stephanie Plum, who is finally getting good at her job. In this installment, she's trying to catch a used car salesman who, it turned out, was trafficking in young girls and drugs. She's also helping out the mysterious Ranger, who has a skilled Russian assassin out gunning for him. (And might I just add, if I were Ranger, I'm not sure I would want Stephanie involved if I were dealing with a skilled Russian assassin with a personal grudge, but that's just me.)
As usual, there is much eating of donuts and fried chicken, much blowing up of cars and apartments,
and many trips to the funeral home. All in all, it's a good book for a day at the beach.
