This was a Man by Jeffrey Archer

This was a Man is the final installment of the Clifton Chronicles, featuring Harry Clifton and his beloved wife Emma. This book ties up a lot of the loose ends for long-running characters in the series such as Giles Barrington and Sebastian Clifton as well scoundrels such as Lady Virginia, Adrian Sloane, and Desmond Mellor. Though there is a little too much British politics for the American audience (I'll admit that I started skimming in parts), it's a good wrap-up to an entertaining series.
If you're new to the series, start at the beginning with Cometh the Hour.
