No Man's Land by David Baldacci

No Man's Land is the latest in the John Puller series. John, an army investigator, is stunned to learn that his 3-star general father, now a victim of dementia, is being accused of the murder of John's mother, who had disappeared 30 years earlier. John uses his leave time to investigate the case, with the help of his friend, government agent Veronica Knox. Their paths cross with Paul Rogers, a man who had been stationed at the same military installation as the Puller family when Jackie Puller disappeared--and who has spent the last 10 years in prison. As always, it's a compelling story and John Puller is a sympathetic main character. You don't necessarily have to read the earlier books in the series for this one to make sense, but there are references to things that have happened in previous books.  Good diversion for these dreary winter weekends.
