Breaking Cover by Stella Rimington

Breaking Cover is part of a compelling British-spy series that I have been reading totally out of order as the books pop up at my library. The heroine is intelligence agent Liz Carlyle, who--still reeling from a personal tragedy--has been assigned to counter-espionage. Her team soon gets word that one or possibly even two Russian agents are at work in England. With only a vague description to go on, it is truly like looking for a needle in a haystack. I figured out who the 2 Russian agents were fairly early on but it was still a good read. The author brings her real life experience as a British spook to the pages of her novels.
