Clawback by J A Jance

Ali Reynolds' father, Bob, trusted his friend Dan Frazier to manage his retirement nest egg. But one morning, Bob hears on the news that the SEC is investigating the investments arm of Dan's company for fraud and realizes his and his wife's hard-earned retirement money is gone. He rushes over to Dan's house to confront his friend--only to find Dan and wife dying after being attacked by intruders. Bob calls 911--and promptly gets arrested as the prime suspect. When Ali and her husband find out, they employ the expertise of their cybersecurity firm to find the real killer(s). Good story--with a good moral about not putting all your eggs in one basket.

As you can see, I've been into beach reading this summer. I tried reading Charles Frazier's Varina, but found it too slow--and depressing--for summer reading. And I soon have to dive into Lincoln in the Bardo for my upcoming book group meeting. so no more fluff for a while.
