Invitation Only Murder by Leslie Meier

This is part of a long series that I haven't read the rest of. so I'm not sure what the rest of the series is like. But this plot seemed a little implausible. Lucy Stone is a part-time reporter for a newspaper in a small town in Maine. She gets invited out to an island for a fancy party being thrown by rich-guy Scott, the new owner of the island. Scott has brought his family to the island and, in the name of eco-friendliness taken to the extreme, he has them living like it's the 19th century--no cell phones, no electricity, no refrigeration. After the party, Scott invites Lucy to come spend 4th of July weekend with the family to see what life is like on his island and Lucy readily accepts.  Everything starts out great then quickly turns to the weekend from hell. Lucy finds one of Scott's daughters dead while she's out on a walk. Then Scott's young twin sons disappear. Then someone tries to kill Lucy.
And there's no way off the island for a number of reasons. It all got crazier and crazier until it became like an action-adventure Diehard movie, complete with explosions.

According to other reviews I've read, this book is not typical of the Lucy Stone series. I liked the character of Lucy so I may try another one. This one was a little too far-fetched.
