The Perfect Alibi by Philip Margolin

Girl goes to a party where she drinks too much and says she got raped by the local football star. This sets in motion a criminal case involving lawyer Doug and a civil case involving lawyer Robin. At the same time, Doug's boss Frank is working on a case involving a pharma firm with a new drug that may have deadly side effects. Then people who are related to these three cases start dying, with lawyer Robin at the center of it all and trying to figure out what really happened and who's guilty of what.

Robin is a likable heroine and it's an engrossing story.
