Movie review: Les Miserables

In a nutshell, I liked Les Miz but didn't love it. I thought Hugh Jackman and Anne Hathaway were excellent, as were several of the supporting actors/actresses. (And I didn't think Russell Crowe was as miscast as some people did.) The music was beautiful. The sets made you feel as if you were in Paris in the 1800s. But the movie is very long and I thought it dragged in spots. (And what was with the Cockney accent from that Gavroche character?) I will say that the friend I went with LOVED the movie. So maybe I just wasn't in the right frame of mind.
