The Reversal by Michael Connelly
A little girl's body is found in a dumpster in 1986. A man is arrested, tried, and found guilty. Flash forward to 2010, when a court ruling overturns his conviction.
The D.A.'s office decides to retry the case and hires defense attorney Mickey Haller to lead the effort. Haller hires his recently discovered half-brother, long-time cop Harry Bosch, to serve as his investigator. And so begins The Reversal, another page-turner from Michael Connelly. The author has taken the main characters from his 2 different series and thrown them (uneasily) together. So in addition to a good legal thriller, there's a good character study. Definitely worth reading.
